The family left England aboard the Mauritania. They stopped in
Cleveland , Ohio to visit with relatives and remained there. Hyman
opened a men's tailoring shop on Central Avenue. In 1913 they moved
to Brooklyn where they lived first on Throop Avenue then bought a
